He especially enjoyed spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his close friends and family. He was an avid NASCAR fan with his favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt Sr. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, off-road driving in Colorado, bowling, good music and good food. The last 10 years he worked for White Energy in the maintenance department. In his early 40s he attended and graduated from Truck Driving School and worked as a truck driver for several years. He worked as a mechanic with his father for several years at Eddies Auto Repair. Jim was good working with his hands and worked as an auto mechanic for many years. Even though the marriage ended in divorce, Catherine and Jim remained close friends, working together to raise their two daughters. ![]() From this union they were blessed with two daughters, Amber and Angela. While her boys were in college, she worked for the local IGA Grocery store in Herndon and for Gwen’s Plumbing & Heating in Oberlin. Early in life, she worked in the post office in Herndon. Joann was a devoted wife and homemaker for her children. Tim preceded her in death on September 28, 1986. This union was blessed with five children: Jerry, Rosalie, Nancy, John, and James. They divorced, and later she met and was united in marriage to Francis Gerald “Tim” Malone on November 28, 1950. She was a graduate of Herndon High School in the Class of ‘47. She attended over eight years in rural country schools. She was one of eight children born to John and Emma (Keplinger) Huss. Joann was born December 21, 1929, on the family farm 5 miles west of Herndon, Kansas. Joann Marie (Huss) Malone, 93, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.
